On The Move
Have you experienced the delight of receiving something long-awaited? Aloysius has been working hard on standing and stepping, and we have waited a number of months for a specialised walker to arrive to help him get on the move. This week, the wait was over! What a joy it was to receive something that was made just for him, and to see his delight as he took steps around the house! We are so grateful for the supports we receive, and for Aloysius’ amazing Physiotherapist.

He has also been provided with a communication device to help him express himself to us and others, even as he grows in his use of sign language. God has indeed provided abundantly for us in Australia, and it has reinforced our decision to stay in Australia for Aloysius’ early years.
Join us in thanking God for these gifts, and for the joy it is to see Aloysius grow and thrive.
Are you ready yet?
When was the last time you had something significant to prepare for? There is often a long anticipation, and then you reach a point where it is so close you want to make sure you are ready! With baby Hortin due in less than 4 weeks, Jess is especially feeling the pull to be ready. We are excited and nervous about meeting this little person, and introducing them to Aloysius.
Please pray for us as we wait, that we would be patient, and trust God with the unknowns. Please also pray for endurance and a safe arrival of baby.
Where Is Your Heart?
Throughout this last month, it has been easy to focus on the concrete, immediate things before us, like a baby arriving, receiving equipment for Aloysius, and working towards 100% of our financial budget.
These are all good things, but as we have met with more people and churches, and as we have entered the Christmas season, we have been reminded that these are not where our hearts are to be anchored.

Jess was reminded in Psalm 139 to delight in God’s knowledge and plan for us, that he is far bigger and far closer than the things that urgently press for our attention.
So rather than focus on the events, milestones, and targets before us this month, we want to be focusing on the joy that it is to know God personally, and to celebrate the greatest gift that we have received in Jesus, who has brought us back into friendship with God.
Please pray with us that our hearts would be in the right place, and not distracted by all the ‘things’ that are pressing for our attention. We are praying this for you too!
FAQ: Are You Still Moving In January?
Our hope is still to move to Melbourne in early 2025, whether that be late January or February. We are currently at 85% of our financial target, which leaves just over $1000 a month until we are able to book flights and move to Melbourne. Thank you to each of you who have played some part in making this happen, for your prayers, for your generosity, and for your encouragement, including those who have chosen to remain anonymous!
If you have been considering financial partnership, but haven’t gotten around to it yet, we would love it if you could either let us know, or follow this link to our member page on the Wycliffe Australia website. Even if you are not able to give until next year, it helps us to plan for our move if we know what you are considering.
Please get in touch with us if you would like to catch up with us, or have us visit your bible study or church. The next month or so will be unpredictable, but we will try our best to make it work!

Prayer Points:
Thank God for:
- The many opportunities to connect with friends, family, and churches, both old and new.
- For the provision of equipment and support through NDIS to help Aloysius develop, and the joy of watching him thrive
- For our growing team of partners and the progress towards moving to Melbourne.
- Sustaining us through busy months and to near the end of the pregnancy.
Please pray:
- Please pray for us as we wait for the arrival of baby Hortin, that we would be patient, and trust God with the unknowns. Please also pray for endurance in these final weeks and a safe and healthy birth.
- That our hearts would be delighting in Jesus in this Christmas season, and not distracted by all the ‘things’ pressing for our attention.
- God to raise up new partners so we can reach 100% of our budget by early 2025.
We pray that you would have rest and refreshment over December and January, and that you would be drawn to the gift of Jesus this Christmas.
