Making Connections

When did you last bump into someone you hadn’t seen in ages? There is something unique about bumping into people who have been part of your life that creates the opportunity to reflect and rejoice at all God has done.
In this last month, we have had the joy of sharing at Providence Midland and City, and have had lots of opportunities to meet new people and reconnect with people we have known over the years. We have also been able to reconnect with friends and family across Australia and around the world, including people we knew through Bible college and even some that we have known from our younger years.
It has been such a delight to encourage one another with what God has been doing, and rejoice in God’s faithfulness to us and the gift of friendship.
Any time, any place, any prayer

One of Aloysius’ favourite books at the moment is the board book version of ‘Every Time, Any Place, Any Prayer’ by Laura Wiffler (currently on sale at
Reformers Bookshop).
Jess has recently been challenged by the way being busy and distracted has made her prayer more sporadic. But our Father in Heaven loves to hear from us, and we need to be leaning on him! We also want to be thanking God and praying for you guys, so we have started a new thing – hanging your names up on a string in our living room, and picking one to pray for each evening after dinner.
How do you find ways to intentionally pray for others? We’d love to hear your ideas!
Jesus is the mighty mighty King
Last time we shared about feeling a bit all over the place – and we still are! But we have had lots of chances to see God’s bigness and faithfulness to us, even in the smallest things.
Another of Aloysius’ new signs is ‘king’, and he will often request to sing Jesus is the mighty mighty king. Although we don’t know all that goes on in his mind, we are delighted to see him often sign ‘king’ when we refer to Jesus, or to request we sing this song.

We are regularly reminded that the mighty king is in charge and is working in the small and the big. And our King delights in the little ways that we can point our son to know him better.
We write our plans in pencil

Part of the challenge of trusting God as our king has been when there are things before us that are out of our control, but feel important. Like when we move to Melbourne! But God is mighty and if he watches over all the fish in the sea, how much more does he watch over us! So we keep writing our plans in pencil, and let God be the mighty king over them all.
We are still keen to move to Melbourne soon, and for Jarod to start his work with Wycliffe Australia in October.
However Jess has been offered a place with midwife-led care at King Edward Memorial Hospital, and has a lovely Christian midwifery student following her journey and supporting her. With the opportunity for such incredible care, we are planning for Jess to give birth in Perth. And we will keep seeking wisdom from God as we make decisions about Jarod’s movements this year.
Finance Update
Thank you so much to those who have been supporting us financially, and those who have been praying for us and encouraging us in this season – we can’t get to Melbourne without you!
We are now at 58% of our current target, which is over half way! We would love to get to 100% by the end of October, so please keep praying for us!
If you have been considering financial partnership, but haven’t gotten around to it yet, we would love it if you could either let us know, or click the button below to do it now!
